A Florida woman's attempt to have a romantic 21st birthday recently ended in anything but.
The woman, Nimeha Milien, agreed to go out on a date with 19-year-old Donald McGee Jr. of Hollywood, Fla., despite the fact that she hadn't met him. The two had only texted prior to their date.
The two spent the evening talking walking through cean Inlet Park in Palm Beach County while talking. After reaching a Wendy's parking lot and telling Milien he was waiting for his brother to come pick him up, McGee pulled a .380-caliber Kel Tec handgun on his date and pointed it at her face.
McGee then ordered Milien out of the car and drove away.
Milien made it to a nearby gas station where she used the telephone to call the police. Patrols picked up McGee and charged him with armed carjacking, robbery with a firearm, possession of marijuana, driving without a license, and fleeing police.
"I'm glad that I'm alive to be able to see my 21st birthday because I want to be able to make a difference in this world," she told WPBF News. "If I had died on that night, I wouldn't have done anything."
